A photographic exhibition by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher, on show at THK Gallery and printed and framed by Orms Print Room & Framing.
Orms Print Room & Framing are extremely proud to have produced an incredible body of work for photographers Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher, whose exhibition “African Twilight: Vanishing Rituals and Ceremonies” is currently on display at THK Photography in Cape Town. Orms Print Room & Framing worked closely with the THK Photography team to decide on the best paper, framing, size and glazing for the total of 27 pieces in 3 different sizes.
About “African Twilight”:
The work explores the cultural diversity of Africa spanning the human life cycle from birth to death and captures traditional initiation ceremonies and rituals of marriage, healing practices, religious beliefs, death and the afterlife. This is an amalgamation of 15 years of fieldwork by Carol and Angela across Africa, in search of documenting sacred ceremonies, art forms and creativity. The journey is completed with a two-volume, 864-page book featuring 750 colour photographs.
“African Twilight” is the first solo exhibition by the pair in Africa, a celebration of the ‘vibrancy, intimacy, personal connection and meaningful understanding for which Angela and Carol are renowned.
The exhibition titled “African Twilight: Vanishing Rituals and Ceremonies” is on display at THK Photography Gallery, 52 Waterkant Street, Cape Town, until 2 February 2019.
