While 2020 has seen the cancellation of a host of big events in the industry, this hasn’t stopped Canon from dropping the biggest gear announcement of the year.

Canon EOS R5
The Canon EOS R5 was teased worldwide earlier this year boasting video capabilities that far exceeded that of competing cameras on the market. But now we have confirmation of all of the juicy specs…
Featuring 45 megapixels and a brand new sensor all running on Canon’s DIGIC X processor, the Canon EOS R5 shoots up to 12fps with mechanical shutter and up to 20fps with the electronic shutter. It also features 8-stops of stabilisation built into the body with the range of compatible lenses we’ll touch on a little later on. Making the Canon EOS R5 great for low-light and of course video.
You’ll see Deon and Andre get rather excited about the video capabilities of Canon’s new EOS R5 with the ability to shoot 8K video at a maximum of 30fps completely uncropped!. Giving content creators the ability to shoot 8K uncropped is a game changer! Not only is 8K now a reality with Canon’s new release but the ability to shoot 4K at 120fps which is another first for Canon and a benchmark for the industry.
Running Canon’s deep learning algorithms alongside Canon’s Dual Pixel AF Mark II system, giving you AF points across the entire sensor functioning in both stills and video meaning it’s almost impossible to not get your shot.
With the ability to shoot 8K video it makes sense that the Canon EOS R5 features two card slots, one compatible with a CF Express card and the other compatible with an SD card. It also features a fully articulating LCD screen for those interested in getting their vlogging on.

Canon EOS R6
Perfectly designed for content creators, the Canon EOS R6 is set to change the way you create.
Featuring a 20 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor, the Canon EOS R6 ensures that each shot you take is crystal clear and completely stable with the addition of IBIS and optical image stabilisation.
Featuring the same AF system and processor as the new Canon EOS R5, the shooting capabilities of Canon’s EOS R6 are truly endless.
Video capabilities aren’t anything to be scoffed at with the ability to shoot 4K at 60fps uncropped which when compared directly to the new EOS R5 aren’t as good but the EOS R6 makes up for it in it’s still shooting abilities. And featuring the same 8-stops of stabilisation built into the body as it’s big brother with the range of compatible lenses we’ll touch on a little later on.
The Canon EOS R6 features a fully articulating LCD screen and contains dual card slots, allowing you to utilise two SD cards.
