Collected Environment | Ndabuko Ntuli | Solo Exhibition at Art@Africa

May 9, 2019 @ 8:00 am - May 11, 2019 @ 5:00 pm

09.05.19 – 05.06.19

Ntuli’s collection of work is one not to be missed, he focuses on African themes and fuses these with contemporary subject matter to create powerful combinations of traditional and contemporary imagery. Having grown up in the Alexandra township and witnessing the effects apartheid had on struggling artists in this position, Ntuli brings his experiences in life into his art. His sculptural work combine everyday objects that he has collected from his environment to create portrait images that echo African culture.

Ntuli has been featured in a number of group exhibitions in South Africa and London and most of his work has been sold at commercial galleries for the past 15 years with the majority now in private collections across the world. In 2015 he was selected as part of only three artists who travelled to participate in the ‘Color me Africa’ Chicago Art Fair in commemoration of the 20 years of Democratic rule in South Africa.

‘Collected Environment’ is Ntuli’s first solo exhibition with Art@Africa and our Art@Angels are incredibly excited to welcome you, introduce you to the artist himself and provide you with a glass of wine while you indulge in Ntuli’s work. While being surrounded by inspiring individuals we hope you will unlock the layers of medium and meaning in Ntuli’s art.

Stay tuned in to our social media platforms to keep up to date with the preparations for ‘Collected Environment’ and what Art@Africa have instore for you.
