In photos: The incredible Oceans of Life photographic exhibition is now on show at the Iziko SA Museum!

The annual Oceans of Life photographic exhibition is currently on show at the Iziko South African Museum, featuring incredible photos of marine wildlife.

The exhibition forms part of the Celebrate Our Seas Festival organised by BirdLife South Africa, which aims to create awareness about the importance of conserving our oceans and marine animals. It’s a very noble cause, and we are proud to be part of it every year!

Of course, Oceans of Life isn’t just an exhibition, but a photo contest too, with the winning photographer taking away the grand prize of an expedition to Antarctica! Each year, the contest draws entries from all around the world, and this year’s top spot goes to local photographer Chris Fallows. Second and third places were awarded to Colin Marshall from Indonesia and Espen Lie Dahl from Norway.

All the works were printed on Duratrans by Vincent van Graan at Orms Print Room & Framing. The exhibition will be on show until 23 November 2014 at the Iziko SA Museum, and general entry of R30 per person (R15 for students) will be required.
