Incredible footage of people’s silhouettes in front of the rising full moon, captured from 2.1 km away by photographer Mark Gee.

Photographer Mark Gee has been trying to record video footage of people’s silhouettes in front of the rising full moon for a while now, and finally succeeded in capturing his vision a few days ago, resulting in the beautiful video below.

The video was recorded with a Canon EOS-1D Mark IV and a Canon 500mm f/4L with a 2x teleconverter. The resulting cropped focal length of 1300mm allowed him to capture the silhouettes of people viewing the moonrise on Mount Victoria from a distance of 2.1 kilometre away, across the city of Wellington in New Zealand.
