You’ve probably heard the term Depth of Field or DoF, but what is it and why should you care? Well, when you focus your camera on a subject, your camera will establish a zone of acceptable sharpness. This zone will vary from photo to photo. Some images may have very small zones of focus, called shallow depth of field. Others may have a very large zone of focus, called deep depth of field.Β How deep this area of acceptable focus is (meaning area from front to back) is called your Depth of Field.
