Colombian creative director Juan Pablo Gaviria photographed the effects of music being played through coloured paints.

These colourful photos were created by Colombian creative director Juan Pablo Gaviria by covering a speaker in paint and playing music through it. While it’s not an entirely original concept, Juan Pablo’s execution is brilliant.

In his own words:

“What happens to liquids, specially colored liquids, when stressed by Music?

In this photographic experiment, I cover a loudspeaker with a balloon to create a surface into with I then pour some liquid paint. I connect the loudspeaker to my iPhone, and when the music hits the speaker, the liquid starts to dance to the music. Then, a kind of magic the human eye can’t see starts.”
