Experience the busy nightlife of London with UK photographer Paul Richardson’s latest time-lapse, Restless Nights.

Restless Nights is a brilliant time-lapse created by British photographer Paul Richardson, featuring the busy nightlife of London.

Paul shot the time-lapse over eight days in October, carrying 22 kilograms of gear by bicycle for over 300 kilometres. This resulted in 18,000 images, which consumed 364 gigabytes of hard disk space.

“Whenever I visit London I’m always surprised by the true 24/7 nature of the city; it really is a place that never sleeps. That was exactly what I wanted to capture, the ‘hustle and bustle’ of everyday life. Unfortunately the weather was true to English standards, and it rained pretty much every single day, forcing me to shoot at night.”

In terms of gear, Paul used a Canon 6D with a 17-40mm f/4L, 50mm f/1.8 and a 70-200mm f/4L. The scenes incorporating motion were shot with his DIY dolly and a Emotimo TB3.
