We always strive to offer the highest quality products for our clients, that’s why we extremely excited to now stock an incredible range of ArtGlass here at Orms – an industry standard across Europe.

Orms Print Room & Framing now stock two types of conservation glass, Artglass AR 99 and Artglass 99, ideal for displaying works, be it in your house or in a gallery. You might be wondering what’s so special about glass, but it actually plays a huge role in the overall effectiveness of your finished product. The Artglass AR 99 and Artglass 99 offer alternatives to the standard glass stocked, which is often very susceptible to reflections.

The Artglass AR 99 is an anti-reflective glass with 99% UV protection, while the Artglass 99 provides the same UV protection at a more affordable price than the anti-reflective option. However, the Artglass 99 also gives you 8% less reflection than standard glass, making it a fantastic compromise between the two.

Notice the difference in contrast due to less reflection on the three glass types below.

According to our suppliers, Artglass AR 99 is the highest performance anti-reflective glass due to the ‘invisible’ glass ensuring a neutral reflection colour, which prevents the keepsake from fading. It combines ‘superb clarity with the best possible UV protection and is highly valued amongst industry professionals and museums’. If you’re looking to preserve true colour, texture and beauty of the framed artwork then this is the perfect option for you!

UV rays are not only harmful to our skin but also to artworks. Sunlight reacts with the surface of an artwork or photograph and changes the chemical composition, breaking down the bonds of the paper, dye and pigment. To prevent brittle paper and faded colours opt for the Artglass 99 option.
