The 41-year-old, twice-kidnapped, mother-of-one, award-winning Photojournalist has released her first memoir “It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War”

Meet photojournalist Lynsey Addario, award-winning conflict photographer and mother who more recently released her first book: an autobiography of her life “It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War”.

Over the last 15 years Lynsey has witnessed several international conflict zones, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Somalia and the Darfur region of Sudan. She’s turned her attention toward women living under Taliban rule, trans sex workers in New York City, kidnappings in the desert and the true cost of war. Documenting often in the most extreme moments, the complex lives of others. All the while navigating relationships and motherhood in a profession that doesn’t tend to accommodate either.
