How close are you willing to get? Researcher balances on a floating whale carcass to get photos of a Great White feeding frenzy.

A researcher balances on a floating whale carcass to get photos of a Great White feeding frenzy

A little too close for comfort?  This shark researcher decided it would be an excellent idea to balance on a floating whale carcass to get the best angle on the Great White shark feeding frenzy around it. According to the 2008 Discovery TV YouTube video, the whale died mysteriously and got washed up on a public beach.  It was then towed by South African police to Seal Island.

As you can imagine the shark researchers couldn’t believe their luck as the sharks started feeding on the rotting flesh, “this is a once in a lifetime opportunity,”  On the second morning most of the whale has been stripped away, this is when one of the scientists decided to get on what remained of the carcass and get a closer look.
