Video camera records its own theft… by a lion.
While shooting pictures for their new book for Africa Imagery, In Search Of The African Lion, Roger and Pat de la Harpe found some lions patrolling the fence at Tswalu Kalahari Game Reserve. Hoping to catch a shot of the lions as they walked past, they quickly placed a GoPro camera on the path. “Little did we know that one lioness would take a liking to the camera and cart it off into the bush!”
When the camera was eventually found, it had recorded the whole ordeal, including a shot at the end of Roger’s first attempt to locate it!
