StateoftheART Gallery invites you to POOLSIDE : a solo exhibition by Mila Posthumus.
As the title suggests, the works in this collection have water as a central theme.
‘I wanted these paintings to have a joyful slant, and it is difficult not to be happy around a swimming pool. Something happens to people when they are close to water, a certain lightness, and I wanted to capture that.’ – Mila Posthumus
While still painted in her usual muted, moody pallet, these paintings conjure up sun soaked swimming pools, retro resort living and midnight skinny dips.
Poolside is Mila’s 4th solo exhibition with StateoftheART.
