“You are telling me this bad news, I’m gonna make the best art I can ever make. I’m gonna do it.” – Photographer, Steven Erra

Steven Erra is a visual artist, a photographer, and painter. He was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa by a doctor while studying in art school in 1979. At the time, he was told that his vision will slowly deteriorate over the next 20 years. In 1993 Steven joined a photography class for the blind and sight-impaired and it was from this group that the Seeing With Photography Collective started in 1997. A group of sight-impaired artists who specialise in “light painting.” [Great Big Story]
