Food photographer Russell Smith and food stylist Nikki Werner will be teaching a food photography workshop at CTSP.
On Saturday 28 January, regular contributor on Orms Connect and professional food photographer Russell Smith will be joined by food stylist Nikki Werner to present a comprehensive food photography workshop at the Cape Town School of Photography.
“Enter the exciting, creative and challenging arena of food photography. In this intensive, 8 hour workshop, each student will get to shoot 4 different types of food and learn the techniques for creating mouth-watering images under the guidance of renowned photographer, Russell Smith and professional food stylist Nikki Werner.
The morning session will begin with the theory behind lighting and compositional techniques including input on building your portfolio for industry. Students will discover how to enhance food with little resources and how to approach styling trends differently. The afternoon session will consist of a practical shoot, a crit session and problem solving discussion. Β Russell will also share some of his industry secrets about post-production of food shots.”

Requirements:
To do this course you need a digital SLR camera, and a good working knowledge of it. A macro lens is optional.
