Photographic Inspiration: New York-based photographer Franck Bohbot captures the spirit of several Barbershops around the city.
We just love these! Franck Bohbot, a French Photographer based in New York photographed this fantastic collection of barbershops all around the city. He spent a year photographing the shops while empty of their customers, capturing the stillness and seemingly timeless spaces. Barbers often occupy the center of his frame, looking into the camera. Franck told the New York Times (who featured the collection) that “By shooting this way, they are like monuments,” he said. “You feel that so many stories happened there, and there is nothing better than when a barber is in perfect harmony with his shop”.
Franck specialises in photographing public spaces, urban landscapes and documentary portraits. If you would like to see more of Franck’s work you can visit his website or follow his Behance portfolio.
