Shawn Greyling’s “Rebel Radio” is a promising SA documentary in need of crowdfunding support on IndieGoGo.
Shawn Greyling, an independent filmmaker and journalist based in Johannesburg, is currently producing a new local documentary titled Rebel Radio.
The documentary will tell the stories of Radio Freedom, Bush Radio and Capital Radio 604, three pirate radio stations that broadcast illegally in order to fight apartheid.
Rebel Radio is currently in pre-production, and Shawn has started a crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo in order to fund the purchasing and renting of equipment needed to bring the documentary to international audiences.
Even if Rebel Radio does not reach it’s funding goal, Shawn says that they will continue with the production, making use of the equipment they have at their disposal. If you’d like to support the project, you can pledge a donation on the film’s IndieGoGo page – every cent helps, as the funding will be paid out to the filmmakers regardless of the total amount reached.
