Watch this: “Through The Ground Glass” offers a great look at the workflow of a large-format photographer.
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a large-format photographer? Taylor Hawkins‘ brilliant short film “Through The Ground Glass” offers a glimpse at the workflow and lifestyle of a landscape photographer working with a large-format camera.
The film focusses on Joseph Allen Freeman, who shares his experience and the emotions that he goes through when working out in the field with his baseboard camera, and shows some of the work that happens in the darkroom afterwards.
Heads up: Joe uses some strong language to describe the shooting process.
