Join the international fashion elite at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town with Orms, A Fashion Friend and Canon SA!
Calling all passionate photographers based in Cape Town! A Fashion Friend, Orms and Canon have partnered up to bring you an experience and portfolio building opportunity of a lifetime: Shooting backstage at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town for a night from 24-26 July 2014 on a Canon 5D Mark III!
We are offering two photographers the incredible opportunity to document the magic and chaos behind the scenes at one of South Africa’s premier international fashion events, as well as the chance to do a live takeover of the A Fashion Friend Instagram account, exposing your style and pictures to thousands of fashion and media followers, in real time!
The Prizes
Two photographers will each win exclusive backstage access to #MBFWCT, and the chance to:
- Spend one night shooting backstage for A Fashion Friend on a Canon 5D Mark III DSLR provided by Orms. The photos will be published online on A Fashion Friend.
- Spend another night backstage taking over A Fashion Friend’s Instagram account while hanging out with international designers, models and photographers.
Both photographers will also receive an online profile on A Fashion Friend to promote them and hype their night of photographic fame.
After the event, the two photographer’s photos will be shared on Orms Connect, and opened up to a vote. The winning photographer will receive a 40 page A3 custom cover portfolio photobook from Orms Print Room & Framing, including free design work if desired!

- Entrants must reside in Cape Town, and cover their own travel expenses.
- The competition closesย Monday 21 July 2014ย at midnight.
- The winners will be contacted via email on Tuesday 22 July 2014.
- The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
- All rights remain with the photographer, and permission will be requested before use.
- We reserve the right to modify or cancel the competition at any time.
