Take a look at some photos of last night’s very busy opening of Nostalgia Now at Exposure Gallery – great photography on show!

Last night, we attended the extremely busy opening of Nostalgia Now, the fourth annual body series group exhibition held at Exposure Gallery in Woodstock.

Nostalgia Now features some really interesting works. Curated by Leah Walker, the exhibition showcases both established and emerging artists, with the brief calling for photos featuring subjects that relate to the body, and reflect nostalgia in the now, “via a rendered nostalgic format be it lomographic, hipstamatic, polaroid, cynotypes, tintypes, faded out, bleached, stained, effected or grainy…”

The exhibition forms part of the Cape Town Month of Photography, tying in with this year’s ‘Autobiography: Chronicles of Our Times’ theme “by incorporating society’s current interest with documenting and sharing personal moments in nostalgic formats by rendering new or existing images as aged.” As such, most of the works on show are either taken using analogue cameras or digitally manipulated to look as if they were.

Nostalgia Nowย will be on show for the next three weeks, till around the 23rd of October, at Exposure Gallery, Old Biscuit Mill, Woodstock. Don’t miss it! The framing was done byย Framed by Orms.
