Let’s talk about the C-Type Lightjet Printing method…

The professional photographers’ preferred choice for exhibitions, C-type or chromogenic colour prints are actual full-colour, professional photographic prints. At Orms Print Room and Framing, we are one of only a handful of companies the world over that offer this specialised method of printing. Produced from digital images, colour negatives or slides, C-Type / Lightjet prints are made by exposing specialised, light-sensitive, photographic paper to light. The paper is then developed and washed using traditional photographic techniques to produce an actual colour photographic print and not an ink-on-paper/photo-quality print.

In addition to full-colour photographic prints, we are proud to offer a highly specialised service: the running of true black and white prints, using fibre-based black and white paper on our LightJet printer.

Once printed, the image can be framed or mounted to Diasec®.

More info about Diasec®

Diasec® is a patented method of face-mounting the image side of a print to transparent acrylic glass, while the back of the print is mounted onto Dibond®. Sandwiched between the acrylic glass and Dibond®, the print is perfectly flat with a high-gloss finish.

The difference between Diasec® printing vs Diasec® framing? This is one of the most common questions we get asked is. Diasec is actually a framing method, and the print is just one part of this process.

Traditional framing isn’t necessary, as a hanging mechanism is attached directly to the Dibond® backing, which floats the artwork 25 mm from the wall. If you prefer a more contemporary look, the Diasec® mounted artwork can be fitted into a frame.
