There’s so much to love about Eric Van Nynatten’s “Shot on iPhone” series, there’s almost a Saul Leiter quality to them. Let’s take a look…
Today we look at a three-part series titled “Shot on iPhone” by New York-based photographer, Eric Van Nynatten. We love this series, not only because the images are beautifully shot, but also because it again just goes to show that you really can work with what you’ve got. You don’t HAVE to have a brand new professional DSLR camera, you don’t have to have an iPhone even. Work with whatever phone or camera you DO have. The most important thing is that you start.
About this series Eric said: “For this series of photos shot on iPhone, I wanted to push the capabilities of the iPhone and see if I could achieve the same results as my full-frame mirrorless camera, from shooting in ideal sunlit settings to low-light conditions. While shooting in blizzard conditions the iPhone 8 Plus surprisingly didn’t freeze up or crash once which is a remarkable improvement from earlier models I’ve had. All images were shot on iPhone 8 Plus and edited using VSCO & Snapseed apps for iOS.”
If you would like to see more of Eric’s work, you can visit his website, follow him on Instagram or Behance.
