Johannesburg based artist William Kentridge invites us into his studio to experience the space in which his thought-provoking artworks and projects are conceived.
As much as we love photography, there are so many different forms of art and artists all around us that we draw daily inspiration from. In this episode of TateShots we are invited to step inside the studio of local artist, William Kentridge and experience his artistic process and presentation.
William Kentridge is best known for his animated films; many of which begin life as charcoal drawings or sketches and develop into their final animated forms. Growing up in Apartheid-ruled Southern Africa Kentridge’s work has a heavy focus on his early and current relationship with his home country.
