In today’s Adobe Photoshop video tutorial, Manfred Werner briefly takes a look at the shape, hand, rotate view and zoom tools.

Learn essential retouching and post production skills each Wednesday, right here on Orms Connect. Tutorial Wednesdays are brought to you by Manfred Werner.

Please note: This video tutorial requires no advanced Photoshop skills and only shows Basics & Tools. This is Part 9 in a series, view the previous tutorials via the related posts to the right.

In this video tutorial I’ll quickly run you through the shape tool, hand tool, rotate view tool and zoom tool. Very important: If you do not know how to work with the pen tool, please view Part 8 first, as the shape and pen tools work together.

First up, I will quickly show you how to create different shapes and after that I’ll introduce you to all the new icons in the application menu. Once we are done with that, I will show you how to use the hand tool and rotate view tool, to move through your image or even to rotate your whole canvas. Last step will be the zoom tool, which can be very handy when retouching. The keyboard short cut is Z.
