View the finalists of the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards, showing some of the best positive and negative moments of the last year.
The shortlist for the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards was revealed yesterday, showcasing the best entries in the professional, open and youth categories.
The contest, run by the World Photography Organisation, attracted over 139,000 entries from 166 different countries – record numbers in the seven year history of the photography competition.
The finalist images selected by the judges include some of the best photographs taken across the globe during the last year. All of the shortlisted photos will go on show from 1 to 18 May at the 2014 Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition at Somerset House in London, and will also be published in a book.
The winning photographers in the open and youth categories will be announced on 18 March 2014, and the professional category winners, as well as the L’Iris D’Or / Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year title will be revealed at a ceremony in London on 30 April 2014.
