A five minute time lapse video showing the sky above San Francisco over an entire year in a grid format – must see!
In order to capture a record of weather and light patterns over San Francisco, Ken Murphy used a roof-mounted camera to capture a photograph every 10 seconds for entire year – that’s over 3 million images!
By combining all the photographs from each day into a 20×18 grid, Ken managed to make a time lapse film showing 360 days worth of sky in 5 minutes. The image above is time-stamped at around 7AM and visually shows the different times that the sun rises. One commenter on PetaPixel said: “fantastic. until i played the video i had no idea how fascinating this is.”
