Incredible behind-the-scenes footage of architecture photographer Carlos Ayesta rappelling off skyscrapers to get the shot.
For French architecture photographer Carlos Ayesta, another day at the office means hanging off the side of a skyscraper just to get the shot that photographers on the ground or on the rooftops can’t get.
Luckily for the rest of us on the ground, Guillaume Bression from Trango Production filmed behind-the-scenes footage of Carlos’ La Défense – Ville Verticale project, translated as Defense – Vertical City. Watch as Carlos rappels over the edge of buildings, hangs in the middle of the Grande Arche, and pushes off windows to get a bit of “foot” zoom going:
Incredible stuff, right? As Chris from FStoppers puts it, “whatever it takes to get the shot.” The project was shot over 15 days, after 6 months of admin to get everything organised.
The video was filmed using a combination of cameras, including a Canon EOS C300, Nikon D800 and GoPro cameras.
