Canon blew us all out of the water this morning with the announcement of their new offerings the loyal Canon users, let’s take a look at exactly what Canon has released and put into development for the coming year;
Canon EOS 850D DSLR Camera
Aimed at enthusiasts, this entry-level DSLR is the perfect introduction to the world interchangeable lens cameras.
The updated DIGIC 8 image processor gives the new Canon EOS 850D a step up from its predecessor and the offering of 7 fps continuous still shooting and 4K 24p video recording and vertical video support prove that this is the perfect camera for content creators wanting to get their creative feet wet.
The combination of the 24.1MP APS-C CMOS sensor and ISO range of 100-25600 expandable to 51200, gives you detail-rich images with the ability to shoot in a variety of lighting environments. If that wasn’t enough, Canon have also announced the development of their new Canon EOS R5 Mirrorless Camera, Canon RF 100-105mm f/4.5-7.1 IS USM Lens and RF Extender 1.4x and RF Extender 2x.
While we haven’t been given too much detail on this new addition to Canon’s Mirrorless range we do know that Canon is focusing on improving workflow for its mirrorless operators with improvements in “speed, comfort, and high-image-quality.” There’s the promise of a newly developed full-frame CMOS sensor, an electronic shutter offering 20fps and mechanical shutter offering 12fps. A massive step-up in video offers users the ability to record in 8K and a higher video resolution gives users the ability to extract high-resolution stills or make use of the extra resolution to generate improved 4K footage.
Canon’s new RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM lens promises to reach true super telephoto territory for users of Canon’s full-frame mirrorless cameras, and the two new extenders gives a serious boost to the reach of select RF lenses.
