Sally Mann began her career in the late 70’s and is probably one of America’s most renowned photographers. She’s still producing work today, has received numerous awards, including NEA, NEH, and Guggenheim Foundation grants, and her work is held by major institutions internationally. From landscapes to people with themes that reflect the circle of life – from childhood to death and decay and eventual rebirth. Her photography is often both visually and subjectively challenging but beautiful in both what it reveals to the viewer and suggests beyond the lens. She lives in Virginia.
