New Nikon 50mm f/1.8G

Nikon’s new AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G is coming to South Africa soon. The new FX-format prime features Nikon’s Silent Wave autofocus motor technology, which means that it also works on the newer mid-range Nikon bodies without the built-in focus motor. Switching between focus modes is also easier than ever with the full-time manual focus override.

The optical design has also been improved, reducing the amount of chromatic aberrations, lens-flare and ghosting. Images are sharper, and the bokeh is superior to the previous design.

The lens is now available for pre-order at R2,495, and should arrive near the end of May. Full feature list below.
