Photography is a great medium for capturing brief moments, like this fairly rare display of noctilucent clouds appearing over Scotland, and sharing it with the rest of the world.
Never heard of noctilucent clouds before? Neither had we, until we saw this beautiful time-lapse by Maciej Winiarczyk, showing the high-altitude clouds as they shimmer shortly after sunset. Amazingly, halfway through the shoot, the aurora borealis decided to make an appearance, adding even more spectacle to the already incredible scene.
