Collection of aerial photographs from Richard Misrach’s highly influential On The Beach project – Must see!
American photographer Richard Misrach spent most of the 2000s photographing people on beaches and in the calm surf from aerial perspectives. This highly influential body of work was published in a book titled On The Beach in 2007, and was voted one of PDN’s Visions of the Decade. The photographs themselves deal with the “precarious nature of life itself”.
These photos are best viewed as large prints or projections to appreciate the large scale, but here’s a small taste:
