Orms Connect Giveaway: Lowepro Flipside 400AW

  1. I would love this bag – pack a body, 70-200, teleconverter, 24-70 and a flash. This would be awesome as aircraft hand luggae and fits well in the overhead lockers of an aircraft. I do a lot of travel and this is an awesome feature for me. Please advise whether you are going to courier it to me or post – lol

  2. What I’d put in it, is lots of my lovely Nikon gear. I shoot lots of airshows, so I take two bodies – a FF D3 and a DX D300s with a variety of lenses for aerial, airborne and static.

  3. The Lowepro Flipside 400 AW would be the perfect bag to use on my Italy trip next month to carry my Canon 7D, 70-200mm, 15-85mm and my trusty 50mm

  4. WoW this is a stunning bag, much better than the kit bag i got when i bought my gear. It would be great upgrading to a new bag. This would make my traveling around the city much more easier and fun, as the camera gear would be well looked after…. i never knew they created bags like this, with a weather proofing cover… i like it a lot.
If i dont happen to win this, i must buy it instead.
Thanks for keeping me up to-date
    Grant

  6. In the Lowepro Flipside 400AW, I would keep my new D7000 I got from Orms a few weeks ago. Along with my 18-105mm kit lens, 24-70mm f/2.8, 30mm f/1.4, 70-300mm and SB-600 flash. And maybe try attach a tripod or reflector on the outside.

  7. Perfect for bush trips on my motorbike and packing mozzie repellant, doorstep sandwiches, small hip flask (purely medicinal) sunnies, suncream, toilet roll (never been a fan of using the local flora)  – oh and my long suffering D50!

  8. This would be perfect for my Canon 50D, 70-200mm F2.8 Lens, 50mm prime and a favourite my 100mm Macro – great for walks, given the excellent shoulder and hip support

  9.  Packed with my Canon 20D and my sweet little standard lens plus all the other little bits and bobs, some trail mix and my Diana F+ just for fun. #Funtimes

  10. I would LOVE this bag for my Canon EOS 550D kit
that was bought from Orms. My 3 lenses and flash would would love this

  11.  I was lucky enough to get more equipment passed on from a photographer friend and my current bag is just getting to small – cant take everything with anymore when I move around with it! Would be lovely to be able to pack everything in one bag! Have a 500D 🙂

  13. how timeous…..this bag would be housing all my new equipment which I am purchasing in a few days time…..landed my first big wedding contract & can now upgrade my camera gear & will definitely need this very useful  Lowepro Flipside 400 AW camera bag!!

  14. My current bag is too heavy… I need to split things up – If I win, I would put my 24-70mm, 5Dii, 580EXii and 50mm inside. Will then have some space to buy new lenses:)

  15.  It has space for my Canon 7D with the macro 100mm attached to the body. There is also space for my other macro gear, i.e. macro flash with spare batteries, a box of extension tubes and my other wild 65mm macro lensIt has space for my Canon 7D with the macro 100mm attached to the body. 16. What a great bag and stunning colour, just perfect for the bush. It would be great for the safaris (both on the vehicle and walking) that I do and will fit my Canon 7D & my 70-200mm 1:2.8 perfectly. Along with my other lens and paraphernalia that one needs there is plenty of space. paraphernalia that one needs there is plenty of space.

  17. I would like to use the bag when I go fly around our lovely South Africa.
I would take a lot of formation photo’s an need a bag for easy access.
I would keep my Canon Rebel XSi and my Canon lenses in the bag.

ORMS I WOULD LOVE TO WIN Lowepro Flipside 400 AW camera bag!!

  18.  My Canon family has recently expanded, to include an orphaned grandad 3000N and his trusty companions from the EOS family, 35 -80ml and 70 – 300ml. Now my humble home is a tight squeeze for ‘my baby’ 7D, along with his friends 18-135ml, 60ml, and 24 – 70ml, and they would love a new, comfy LowePro nest to keep them out of the rain this winter. 😉

  19. This bag will be the home of my Nikon D80 and Sony Bloggie. A Nikkor 18-105mm and 105mm macro lenses together with a 70-300mm Tamron. This bag is awsome.

  20. I too am an avid beginner and I am slowly collecting lenses (got 4 – 2 rubbish, 2 semi decent).  My body was the best I could afford to start with, my trusty Nikon D5000 (but to start learning it is phenomenal – all about the lenses anyway!).  I also have an SB600 and a teleconverter.  I can’t fit everything into my smaller bag, so this would be such a great win! Pick me! Pick me! 🙂

  21. This bag would be great for my 70-200. Could finally leave it on my 5dii and still fit it in the bag! There would still be space for my iPad which lets me take my business with me wherever I go.

  22. Would use it for my Nikon D3100, Nikon AF-S 55-200 lens, batteries, flash and all the other camera equipment I have purchased from ORMS.  Will really come in handy when I’m shooting Wedding shoots.

  23. hmm, now this is a great camera bag.  I like the idea of being able to leave my long 100mm lens on the camera instead of removing it because of space.  I don’t like clutter and have a small selection of lenses which I’m hoping to add a 50mm soon but this bag can take the lot.  I can put in my filters, batteries, other goodies and so on besides my 450D.  Just what I need.

  24. This bag would just round off my Camera equipment that was bought @ Orms sometime back….Canon 7D c/w 15 – 85mm, 70 – 200 f/2.8 IS and 430EX11 flash and monopod….it would look so cool in the 400AW dont you think SO !!!

  25. Nikon gear from top to bottom!! Weekend hiking trails (the weather coat is perfect against the Cape’s rainy season)…

I accidently ran over my Lowepro Classic two years ago with both my bodies and two of the lenses in it. Sadly the one lens was beyond repair and had to be replaced…the rest were okay’ed by Nikon through their various tests. Thanks Lowepro, you make a great product!

  26. What a stunning camera bag!  The zip is breaking on my current bag so would love to replace it with this amazing bag!  I can Thanks Orms for being a great supplier!

  27. The bag I’m useing is just to small. Canon 550D, Canon 18-55mm lens, Canon 55-250mm lens, 18-200mm Sigma lens and 50-500mm Sigma lens. Canon Speed light 580EX II flash. And don’t forget my Manfrotto 680B monopod. Would love to add a micro lens soon. Maby 100mm f/2.8 L…

  28.  I’m beginner photographer. My boyfriend got me in to photography, asked me to take photos of him windsurfing with his camera. I enjoyed it so much that I went out and bought my own camera, and enrolled for a Digital Photography course. Because I spend most my time photographing on the beach, this bag of for grabs will be perfect! Especially as we are busy buying new lenses from time to time, and they won’t all fit in the bag I have now!

  29.  As a long-time Lowepro user the Flipside 400AW looks perfect for my needs. As a regular on the motorsport circuit, my Nikon D300, two of my SB800s, my 70-200 2.8, 50mm, 18-70mm 10-20mm and assorted batteries and connectors and other odds and ends (my light-travel kit) would happily live snugly in here. That “raincoat” which I’ve so appreciated on my other Lowepro bags is a great solution for when I’m out in the elements and need to protect my equipment.

  30.  I would pack my gear and head off to the wild on a surfing safari to take photos of people and views and sights and objects and interactions and moments and the kinda stuff that photo-g’s photograph…

  31. This is perfect for the gear I am going to buy when business starts picking up. My Lowepro Slingshot 102AW is full with my current gear so this will be perfect for when I grow my collection

  32. This bag would work well for my canon 50D and 400D, with wide angle lens, 18-200mm zoom and 100 – 400mm zoom, where I can then fit everything into one bag, as I’m on the road a lot!

  33. Hi am about to take my first leap towards DSLR photography and was looking for an ideal bag for my new gear that I will be carrying around everywhere with me and I think I might have found it with the competition being ran. Even if I do not win here, I will consider buying the Lowepro Flipside 400 AW camera bag.

  34. Later this week I’ll be buying my first digital SLR (from Orms by the way) – the new Nikon D5100 with the 18-55mm and 55-300mm lenses. This bag sounds like just the think for my new equipment, with plenty of space to accommodate all the new equipment I’m going to have to buy (from Orms of course) in the near future.

  35. My SX20is, bought at Orms will go in there until I am by means of upgrading to DSLR. The other spaces I will fill with my cleansing kit, survival kit, and go out into the veld for a day, showing off my Orms equipment!

  36. Well, late last year we added the Nikon D3100 to our kit (bought from Orms CT). This kit is busy growing with additional lenses (also Orms), more batteries and SD cards.
Since this camera is now extensively used for event photography which takes us to some odd places, carting the gear around is becoming a bit of a shlep! So, a decent camera bag would add much needed value to our growing events photography business… 🙂

  37. Got my new Nikon D7000 on Saturday from Orms North, but my FastPack 250 can’t fit a second body (D5000) with my 35 f/1.8, 14 f/2.8 and 70-300, SB800, Cokin filters, flash gels, triggers and cleaning gear. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome is a real and very serious condition…)

  38. This would be ideal for my birding walks! I would use it for my favourite 5D plus my 100-400IS and squeeze a 17 – 40 L and a fish-eye in there for the landscape shots!

  39. Great hiking bag – I’d fit in my Canon 60D (sweet) with 18-135 lens and 50mm f1.4 (double sweet – once it arrives). Along with all the other accessories we always seem to need once the photobug bites…

  40. It would like the bag to carry my ever growing collection of cameras bought at ORMS. Currently that is a Nikon D90 and it’s four lenses plus extra batteries.

  41. I will use it for my Canon 350D camera, lense and accessories and my Sony videocamera. Everything nicely together and safe and handy when needed .

  42. Oh Orms how did you know i needed a new bag.I have the lowerpro shoulder bag in it i have my Nikon D500,Sigma 10-20, Nikon 55-200 and Nikon 18-55.I am going to invest in the SB 900 flash and as you can c i dont have any space for it.

  43. The bag would be my first piece of professional gear – my dream will have gathered some momentum! So instead of my current 350D and lenses rolling in the bottom of my son’s old schoolbag, I’d have something decent and at least look pro (until I open the bag!)
    🙂

  44.  As a nuture photographer I would use it to carry my CANON EOS 60 D and all my lenses and kit  bought at ORMS while walking along the coast doing what I love, photography!!!

  45.  Oh man I could so use this for the equipment needed to paint with light. carrying uncomfortable bags around always causes loss of capturing moments, getting down quickly is tough when you have lady handbag style bags covering your body. ahhh what a pity. this would be so freakin awesome.

  47. I would absolutely enjoy this bag to the fullest.  I travel alot by foot, and this bag would make al those travels so much easier, and give not only my camera but the rest of my equipment the safety it needs, and the comfort of having everything in a arms reach so worth wile.  If that is not all the straps would make this a perfect secure fit.  Just for me 🙂

  48.  Would love to have one of these, i see both my cameras can fit. This bag will suit my Canon 5D MK II and Canon 1D MK IV including my Canon 24-70 f/2.8, Canon 16-35 f/2.8 MK II, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS, Canon 50mm f/1.4 as well as a 580 EX speedlight.

  49. Very nice bag to carry around for small trips, nice size, not as big as my trekker. My d700 body, flash batteries, 2 of my shorter lenses and maybe a telephoto zoom and/or anything needed for my shooting purpose.

  50.  I would pack my desert survival kit, my humble and trustworthy Nikon D80 and 2 lenses and see how I can push my minimalist equipment to do some creative light capturing in the Namib desert

  51. Very nice bag to carry around for small trips, nice size, not as big as my trekker. My d700 body, flash batteries, 2 of my shorter lenses and maybe a telephoto zoom and/or anything needed for my shooting purpose.

  52.  I would use it for my Canon EOS 1000D. Plus it would make a great motivator to buy some new equipment (from ORMS of course) to fill it up (pffft, as if I need motivation…) This will make traveling so much easier!!! 😀

  53. what would i pack.

  55. Wow, I was going to go out and buy one today. But maybe I’ll postpone a little? I’ve been using an old school sling bag for my D7000 and lenses but when you’re on the move it’s quite hard to run with it.

  56.  Brilliant Bag – I need a new bag to carry my

  58. Oooh definitely need a decent bag, have spent way too much at orms the last couple if months.  Need somewhere for my precious Canon 7D, 70-200 f4, 24-70 f2.8 and 580 flash.  Please give these deserving lenses a good home!!

  59. I am an amateur wildlife photographer who currently uses the Lowepro Slingshot 202 AW. As with all photographers you start off with the least possible equipment and then add on, add on, add on, upgrade and the next thing you know is that your current bag is growing too small to carry the equipment that you have. With the Lowepro flipside 400AW I will now be able to pack my Sasol bird book, My Canon 500D, My Canon 7D (in the market for a new one) My 18-200mm lens, 50mm F1.8 lens, 100×400 lens. Canon 100mm Macro lens Lens, Canon flash 430 EXII, Batteries for the flash, cleaning equipment, 2X converter. Extra SD Cards for the 500d and compact flash for the 7D. Battery chargers for the cameras. Now that the equipment is safely packed in my waterproof Lowepro 400Aw bag, all I have to do is strap it on my back and hit the nearest wildlife trail. Now that the bag is on my back, sunglasses on I can now watch everybody googling my fantastic Lowepro 400AW bag on my back saying to their mates, Now there goes a well organised photographer

  60. Well to start with I would pack in all my goodies, wife, children and electronic equipment, oh not to forget my camera as I may need it to capture the moment once storing them in their as this gab is so well organised ans has such huge capacity I feel like I am in a 4X4.

  61. I am a CANON girl (All my equipment 100% original Canon) What will I pack . . . mmm . . . well, my present backpack is too small for all my equipment, so will most definately pack EVERYTHING I have in my bag!
All the backup equipment included (which at present I have to put in another bag) – I really  want an all-in-one bag for by Back’s sake! So please, PLEASE choose me, I will forever be very grateful. x

  62.  I have the Flipside 200, and have grown out of it, with all my equipment being purchased from the friendly and knowledgeable guys at Orms Roeland Square.
Since I bought my Lowepro backpack at Orms, I have purchased from this same store a Nikon D7000 camera body, a Sigma 70-200 F2.8 lens, a 50mm F1.8 prime lens, a Nikon wireless remote, UV filters for the above lenses. I really would be able to use a bigger bag, and Lowepro is the only choice for me.

  63. Thanks Orms & Singer for the opportunity
I would pack in a 5D MK11, 16-35, 70-200 2.8; some ND grad filters, maybe a macro lens; batteries, charger, CF cards, Lespen, lens cloth, light rain jacket, lipice, water…..and head to Elim, Napier etc in that area. Shoot…taste a little of the Cape grape & shoot some more.

    Canon 28 – 70 F2.8
    1 Flash
    Coffee
    Mugs
    Biltong

    etc….and maybe my assistant’s Nikon D3100

  65. 7D from Orms, plus the lens that came with the body. New DSLR user and still finding my feet.
The bag is freakin awesome! Should fill it with the required goodies in no time at all 😉 Yay, an exciting world awaits me it seems!

  66.  Perfect size bag for the following equipment of mine:

    2x DSLR Bodies
    24-70mm F2.8

    Filters
    Batteries

    CF Cards

  67. I have been using the Lowepro Fastpack for a few years, which has been fantastic and which I of course bought at Orms. My kit (all of it purchased from Orms) is in desperate need of some more space. I would pack the following in the Lowepro Flipside: Canon 50D, Canon 1000D, Canon 18-55mm f3.5-5.6, Canon 50mm f1.4, Sigma 70-300mm f4-5.6, Canon Speedlite 580EXII, tripod, diffusers, additional batteries, chargers, cables and memory cards. 69. Ok let me see.

    I would pack

    Canon 1Ds
    Canon 40D plus grip
    Canon 430 ex MK1 Speedlight
    Canon 17-85 mm IS USM
    Canon 70-200mm f2.8 L
    Canon 50mm f1.8

and some extra odds and ends on my photo walks or hiking.

  70.  It would be great to use for travelling purposes.  I would pack my Canon 5d MKII, Canon 40d, Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS, Canon 24-70 f2.8, Canon 50mm f1.4, Canon 17-40 f4, Canon 100mm f2.8 IS, Canon flash 430, Pocket Wizards TT5 x 2, various filters, remote cable release …etc etc …….as you can see, definitely need the space and definitely need the Lowpro Flipside 400AW!

  71. Now all my gear will finally fit in ONE awesome bag and I don’t have to carry two anymore.
Nikon D300, 16-85mm, 50mm, 35mm, 70-300mm, fisheye, SB-700 flash, filters and loads of other accessories!  Great bag for hiking with all this gear and not leaving anything behind!

  72.  With my 7D now being used a lot for TV documentaries this would go a long way to helping with the extra video light and other accessories which my small Lowepro bag can’t take.

  73. What a great bag for travel!  When going through airports and public transport systems you need great protection for you gear, and this bag would do the job nicely.

  74.  It’s a Mmmph kind of a product! I would put my 60D with 70 -200mm 2.8IS Lens attached as shown in the picture, then my 550D body upright, with my 10 -22 mm, 50mm, and 24 – 70 mm upright too :). I would also probably have space for my Wireless mic’s and Zoom H4n recorder in, so it would be everything I need for a basic 2 camera shoot 🙂

  75. It would be great to have a back pack like this, as i would pack my 2 Canon EOS 1Ds III cameras on small lenses like the 24-105 mm and the 75-200mm f2,8, to this I would add my 2 converters (1,4 and 2,0) as well as still have enough packing space for the filters and spare memory cards. Dont forget the Flash. That would free up my big case for the fixed lenses so I could get to out of the way places and wait for that special shot !!

  76.  when on holiday this bag would be handy for:
    – 550D SLR body
    – standard zoom lens
    – 70 – 300mm & a 50mm prime lens
    – couple memory cards all over the place
    – extra battery
    – iPad (if i had 1)
    – my other camera’s – namely; Sony DSC V3 / the Diana mini / Pentax
    – Film (35mm) slide neg. / colour neg. / b&w / and some ilford
& lastly a place for my phone (its got a camera as well)

    Later days
    Jessel

  77. Yes Please! Perfect for my wedding photography! Time to upgrade from the smaller Lowepro to the Big Daddy!  I would pack all my canon equipment, accessories, lenses etc in it!  No more lugging 2 bags around! Thanks Orms!

  78.  this bag would perfectly compliment my traveling around the cbd grabbing all the unique shots cape town has to offer. not only will all my gear be safe and secure, the bag also provides a quick way to get your camera out and take that golden shot. from hiking to trips to the beach, one thing ill be sure of is that the lowerpro flipfide aw 400 will keep my camera and lens’s safe as well as serve every need I have.

  79. Shooting in crowds is tricky at the best of times thats why theLowepro Flipside 400 AW would be a great bag, Keeping out wondering hands and keeping my 5dmark2 safe and if it rains I pop over the “All Weather Cover” The all in one perfect bag!

  80. I would use this bag for when I don’t need to take my big bag along (Lowepro Vertex 300 AW) and just need some of my equipment. I would use it withmy Canon 7D & Grip and 70-200 2.8 (Non IS) with 2X converter, the 10-20 3.5 and 24-70 2.8, Flashes, filters, remote shutter release, tripod and a few other odds and ends (like spare batteries, microfiber cloth, etc)… I might even through the old 350D & grip in too…

  81. This bag strikes me foremost as COMFORTABLE, something which I am beginning to value more and more as I seem to go through far too many bags looking for enough comfort for longer walks with my gear. Looks like the perfect size, too. If one needed to take more than what fits into this one, it would be better to split it up between two people anyway. I like the understated design, too!

  82. I
think the lowerpro flipside aw 400 is an excellent bag for wedding
photography aswell for going on hiking trips! Having your primary camera
at hand your backup can travel with you, especially weddings. As where
you bigger zoom lens will be at hand at hiking trips and safaris. Would
like to have a bag like this.

  83. Hi there

Wow what a fantastic offer, i would love this bag. The bag I have now is so small and does not fit all equipments in, especially not with my telephoto lens on the camera. I do a lot of hiking and am about outside a lot, so this would be perfect to carry all equipment, flash, lens etc. I would pack Canon 400mm 5.6L telephoto, Canon 50mm, Canon 75-300mm IS, Canon 7D body, flash unit, tripod/monopod, binoculars.

  84.  All I need now is a bag that can fit all my equipment.
Camera – Canon 500D with lenses
    Cokin filters
    Batteries
    Flash
    Cables
    Notepad
    Lenscleaner
    Books
    Nibbles
Maybe my small video camera as well
    Tripod on the outside

  85. My shopping list of equipment grows and grows, but a Canon 5Dii and a couple  of L series lenses ( Canon EF 70- 200 f2.8 L, EF 24 – 70 mm 2.8 L  and 50mm 1.2f L would always be in there.

  86. What an awesome bag! Would be perfect for my 7D and the necessary accessories which was all purchased at Orms. It is currently being stuffed into a tiny bag. Fingers crossed that it will have a new home soon 😉 Thank you Orms for giving us the opportunity to win this stunning bag! 🙂

  87. Some years ago I was given a Nikon D50 bought of course at Orms. I have since added some gear but it is still my pride and joy! This site is a great idea and I wll definitely stay connected.

  88. Wow. Thanks for all the amazing comments! The competition is now closed. We’ll have a draw in the Orms shop soon and announce the winner this afternoon!

Thanks again for the great support. Best fans in SA!
