View the new Sigma and Tamron lenses announced for Photokina, including TWO new Sigma 150-600mm lenses!
Along with the Nikon announcements this morning, Sigma and Tamron have revealed new lenses ahead of next week’s Photokina show.
Sigma Lenses
Sigma has revealed not one, but two new 150-600mm telephoto zoom lenses, taking on the very popular Tamron 150-600mm lens released earlier this year.
The two new zooms fall into Sigma’s Contemporary and Sport categories, with the latter version featuring more elements in more groups, along with a full metal construction and weather sealing. It remains to be seen how they perform optically compared to each other and the Tamron, but we can’t wait to get our hands on them.
Update: The Sigma 150-600mm lenses are now available for order on Orms Direct.

Sigma also revealed a new superzoom for crop sensor cameras, covering all the way from 18mm to 300mm, and it also falls into their Contemporary line. Here’s a look at the lens.

Tamron Lens
With their 150-600mm long lens and 16-300mm superzoom already released, Tamron revealed that they have been working on a 15-30mm f/2.8 wide-angle zoom for full-frame cameras. With optical stabilisation, an ultrasonic focussing motor and flourine coatings, this should be one to look out for!
