Once again we were simply delighted with the exceptional body of work at the June “Wonder/Wander” SPACE Open Exhibition. If you couldn’t be here, you can find all the details and a few images from opening night here.
We hosted the second Orms SPACE Open Exhibition last week. Once again the concept was simple, to give anyone the opportunity to exhibit their work. As most of you know our June exhibition was titled, “Wonder/Wander.” We were interested in seeing what “wonders” you discover through your lens. These might be natural wonders and phenomena that might be described as wildlife photography, landscapes, macro plant and insect life, places of exquisite beauty and so forth. This theme could also be interpreted along the lines of “wander,” journeys, travel photography, the act of walking and literally wandering and seeing what you find. Alternatively, the theme might have been interpreted within a conceptual, poetic and/or philosophic context.
We opened the for submissions on May 19th and again we were simply blown away by the variety and quality of work we received. Finally, opening night came and we are so pleased with the response. The SPACE exhibition was combined with the Orms Cape Town School of Photography student exhibition, this includes work from the full-time students, as well as a selection of the part-time photography courses.
We would like to thank everyone again who submitted their work, we were so pleased with what we received and to see the talent out there! If you didn’t make it into the selection this time, please don’t get discouraged. The SPACE exhibition will be a regular feature, so please keep your eyes peeled for the next one.
The exhibition will be up until July 15th, so please feel free to stop by anytime during office hours. Simply drop in at the Orms Cape Town School of Photography, 4th Floor, 62 Roeland Street, Cape Town. For those of you who couldn’t make it to the opening night, we decided to include a few images below…
