Watch as photographer, Lee Morris takes Tamron’s 35mm and 45mm f/1.8 lenses out on the streets of Charleston to test the VC in low light conditions. Take a look…

If you’ve been in the market for a wider prime lens, you’ve more then likely considered the Tamron 35mm or 45mm f/1.8 VC Lens. Over the last year or so, both Tamron and Sigma have been stirring things up in the photographic industry by releasing a new wave of premium prime lenses. Previously Tamron introduced the worlds first stabilised 24-70mm and 15-30mm, so the fact that the 35mm and 45mm both share the record for being the widest aperture image stabilised lens available at the time of introduction, didn’t really come as a surprise. In addition to that, each lens offers competitively swift focus speeds, excellent sharpness and a solid feel with weather resistant design properties.

The question remains, do you really need the image stabilisation? Well, that depends on what you shoot. Professional photographer and co-founder of FStoppers, Lee Morris recently took the two lenses out on the streets of Charleston to see how the VC (vibration compensation) performs in low light conditions. Let’s take a look…
