If you’ve been visiting some galleries lately, you might have seen some Diasec mounted prints already. These frameless mounts give images an almost three dimensional aesthetic, making your photos ‘pop’ much more than a standard print.

Orms Print Room & Framing is the only framing company in Africa (and the Southern Hemisphere) that has been awarded the exclusive license to mount works with the patented Diasec process. Diasec involves chemically bonding a print to a sheet of acrylic glass using a specialised silicone adhesive designed for this purpose, and then cold-mounting a DiBond (two aluminium sheets sandwiching a foam composite – a very sturdy and lightweight backing, similar to the paper based foam-core) substrate onto the back of the print. The combination of the perspex and the silicone adhesive gives the print a UV resistance of 98% for a guaranteed lifespan of 30 years.
