After you’ve bought the camera of your dreams, it’s time to learn how to get the most out of your purchase. Join us for a 3 hour class where you be introduced to the basics of your camera’s functions. You will get an opportunity to see examples of the effects of the full range of choices your camera offers you, as well as get to experiment in class with a professional photographer. The class will cover photography basics such as aperture and shutter speed and also other features that are specific to your camera, including the different shooting modes and metering.
The class will enable you to get to know your camera and give you the confidence to start shooting. Please note it is aimed at beginners, but will help anyone who is unfamiliar with DSLR cameras.

You’ll need to bring the following to the class:
- Your camera
- Your voucher that will be on the camera box
- Proof of purchase of your camera
I bought my Nikon D7000 last year June (2011). Can I also come to the class?
Hi Antoinette, unfortunately not at this stage – the free classes only apply to cameras purchased with the voucher included.
Ek wil in ‘n paar maande van nou af vir my die CANON 7D koop en beplan om dit by ORMS te doen. Hoe op aarde moet ek die ingewikkelde kamera bemeester sonder hulp. Ek is alles behalwe ‘n profesionele fotograaf maar wil net ‘n baie goeie kamera koop omdat dit die laaste een is wat ek ooit sal kan koop. Ek het al baie op die internet oor die 7D gelees maar ek glo nie dit gaan help nie.

The Canon 7D is an awesome DSLR, but is generally marketed as a more prosumer level camera, and as such it does not include the free DSLR classes.

Ek het aan die einde van verlede jaar die beginner kursus wat by ORMS Bellville aangebied is bygewoon so ek sal darem die nodigste kan doen wat die fotografie aan betref maar om te leer hoe werk die 7D en om hom ten volle te kan benut is waaroor ek my bekommer. Ek sal seker maar die boekie moet vat en self van die begin af deurwerk.
Hi Tillie, although it could take quite a while, the best would be to work through the included instruction manual as you say. Just keep experimenting, and you’ll get to know all the functions over time.
