2018 marks the 20th anniversary of Canon’s professional video cameras, to celebrate this milestone Canon really has not disappointed with the announcement of their latest addition to their already impressive XF series; meet the new XF705 Camcorder.
Equipped with the next generation XF-HEVC format, the newly announced XF705 offers the world’s first 4K UHD 50P 4:2:2 10-bit recording with H.265/HEVC support. With its 1.0 type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 processing, the XF705 boasts improved noise performance, sensitivity and cinematic depth of field. The introduction of an advanced 12G-SDI interface and IP streaming along with a multitude of enhanced HDR capabilities, this latest addition to the XF family is set to change UHD HDR production workflow as we know it.
The addition of the larger 1.0-type CMOS sensor and Canon’s unique Dual Pixel CMOS AF, you’ll always have accurate and fast autofocus with the option of Face Detection AF and object tracking a big plus.
It also features a 4K L-series quality lens which boasts a 15x optical zoom range, a maximum aperture of f/2.8 with a wide angle of 25.5mm. Combined with three independent control rings, you can be sure that you’ll have the level of manual focus you’ve come to expect from the Canon XF professional camcorder range.
