A fish and chip shop owner in Oxford has been taking pictures of his customers at the back of his store to create a special photo album. Kazem Hakimi, who works on the Iffley Road, started his OX4 project to create a “tapestry” of the interesting characters he serves. He says that with being stuck working in the shop, it doesn’t leave him with much free time to go out and shoot. This way he gets to take pictures while creating a record of his friends and customers.

Kazem’s process is simple, the portraits are made while their order is cooking. He says that he spends a maximum of a minute on each shot, usually taking no more than one or two shots, “otherwise my food will burn”.
