Photos from Friday night’s opening of The Shining Girls Charity Art Show, featuring incredible works by top South African artists.
The Shining Girls Charity Art Show for Rape Crisis Cape Town Trust opened on Friday night at The Cape Town School of Photography.
The exhibition showcased incredible artworks created by South Africa’s top artists on torn pages from Lauren Beukes’ latest book, The Shining Girls, all curated by Jacki Lang. With the works selling for only R1000 per item, the exhibition turned out to be a predictable success, with a queue forming before it even opened. We’d estimate that most of the works were sold within 30 minutes!
Here’s a few photos from the opening, as well as some photos of the exhibition that we managed to capture before the crowds swept in. Read more about the show in our post from last week, and be sure to go take a look this week – it will be viewable 9AM to 5PM every day until Friday 13 September!
