We look at the latest photographic project by one of Hungary’s most sought-after contemporary artists.

“POINT” is a fine art project by photographer, Bence Bakonyi who is fast emerging as one of Hungary’s most sought-after contemporary artists. His submission to Orms Connect, was one of the first projects sent to us via our brand new submissions page, so we are excited to share it with you!

In his latest photographic project Bence Bakonyi decided to focus on the everyday items around us. In doing so, he selected a specific material object, something many of us will only really take note of when we need to use it, and started collecting versions of it from all around the world. Bakonyi explains: “In terms of their functions, they are all the same, but their configuration is distinct in each case, and consequently so is their outlook. The straightforward and minimalist visuality of the series builds on the Becherian tradition of collection, but its subject is not desolation and solitude, but connection and interconnectedness.” – [Bence Bakonyi]
