Everyone has an ego, but not everyone knows exactly what that is. Photographer and Youtuber, Sean Tucker, explains what the ‘ego’ is and the essential balance between listening to your ego and learning how to quieten it down, specifically when it comes to being an artist. The word ‘ego’ is typically used with negative connotations, something that Sean Tucker disagrees with, saying “I actually think artists need to be self-centered, and I don’t mean that in the negative way we usually use it in our language. I mean we need to know who we are, we need to know what we’re trying to accomplish with our art and we need to back ourselves when we hit resistance”.
