The new Fujifilm X-T5 mirrorless camera has arrived, and this is definitely one for the fans. The X-T5 is the latest addition to Fujifilm’s innovative line of X-Series cameras. It features Fujifilm’s mighty powerful back-illuminated 40.2MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR imaging sensor and high-speed image processing engine, the X-Processor 5. If you’re looking for a high-performance, high-resolution camera that won’t let you down, look no further than the Fujifilm X-T5.

X-T5 Highlights

Image Quality and Performance

The X-T5 features a 40.2MP APS-C backside-illuminated CMOS sensor and fifth-generation processing engine, which we first saw in the brand’s X-H2 model. Combined with a Pixel Shift Multi-Shot feature, the X-T5 can produce 160MP high-resolution images. Thanks to the X-Processor 5’s high-speed image processing power, photographers have access to up to 15fps continuous shooting with the mechanical shutter and 20fps with the electronic shutter. The X-T5 has a maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/180,000 sec, allowing photographers to freeze moments in time, which is especially valuable in high-speed environments.

X-T5

Its subject-detection features are pretty standard as modern mirrorless cameras go; the camera can detect things like animals, birds, people, planes, trains, motorcycles and cars. Photographers will also be pleased to know that the X-T5 features a 7-stop 5-axis in-body stabilisation system. This helps to reduce camera movements, producing razor-sharp imagery.

Those who enjoy modern camera technology but long for the nostalgic effects of film cameras will love the X-T5’s Film Simulation modes. These modes can simulate photographic film, adding an air of romance and nostalgia to various subjects and settings.

Video Features

While the X-T5 is aimed at photographers, the camera still boasts great video functionality. Videos can be recorded at 6.2K/30P IN 4:2:2 10-bit colour and 4K/60p. The camera also supports F-Log2, which creates an expansive dynamic range of 13+stops.

Fujifilm X-T5

Ergonomics

Fujifilm cameras are known for their classic designs, and the X-T5 is no different. The camera features standalone ISO, shutter speed and exposure compensation dials. This gives the camera that retro aesthetic that Fuji fans know and love.

The X-T5 has a 3.69-million-dot EVF with 0.8x magnification, 1.84-million-dot, three-way tilting LCD and weighs around 557g. Highly durable and weather resistant, the X-T5 has over 50 weather-sealed points making it thoroughly dust and moisture-resistant. It’s also capable of operating in temperatures as low as -10°C.
