World-renowned ice climber Will Gadd becomes the first person to ever climb UP the Niagara Falls.

Every now and again we come across someone who decided to really push the limits, lucky for us with today’s technology these moments are often captured on video or images.  It not only gives us a glimpse into an activity or world we sometimes know very little about, but often also provides us a first person perspective.

With that in mind we take a look at Will Gadd, world-renowned ice climber from Canada.  Gadd, along with Red Bull who sponsored this event took ice climbing to the next level by scaling the frozen sections of the world’s largest flowing waterfall, Niagara Falls.  Action and adventure sport photographer Christian Pondella was at hand to capture this incredible climb.

Gadd comments: “The massive water flow constantly shakes the ground, and makes the ice shelves and walls around you unsteady and unpredictable, it’s a harsh environment and an intense challenge to stay attached to the wall, let alone climb it.”
