Let’s get to know Andre Bezuidenhout, Orms Direct’s e-Commerce website administrator and tech wizard!
Hey Andre! Please tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do at Orms.
I’m a tech wizard with a love for photography and extreme sports. I help keep the Orms Direct website up and running as well as update and implement features.
How did you get into photography?
In high school I started taking pictures and videos of my friends skateboarding, this developed my love for photography. Between me and my friends, we even produced a full-length skateboarding video
What do you love most about what you do?
Playing with new cameras and camera gear, I absolutely love it. The second best thing about my work is implementing new features, and 3rd is coding stylesheets.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Be yourself – My parents
What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on so far at Orms?
The most exciting project has to be when my colleagues and I upgraded the website to a newer version of our CMS platform. It was a massive project with a steep learning curve, but I loved every moment of it.

Do what you love and try not to look at what other people occupy themselves with – Rodney Mullen. High five if you know who he is
What’s the best book you’ve read so far?
Ansel Adams – The camera. I have read a ton of books, from programming to online marketing; but no other book that I have ever read could explain anything quite as good as Ansel Adams explained cameras, exposure and photographic concepts.
What is in your camera bag?
A Nikon D7000 body, SB700 flash, SB600 flash, 55-200mm VR lens, 50mm f/1.8 lens, 18-105mm lens, and 4 flash transceivers.
