Make the most of your new camera: The Cape Town School of Photography will be presenting a DSLR HD Video course in May.
Video technology has come a long way over the last few years, as can be seen with the new Canon EOS-1D C pictured above. However, you don’t need to have a professional series camera to enjoy amazing video quality – if you have a recent DSLR, like the Nikon D3100 or better, or a Canon 550D or better, then you also have an excellent video camera at your disposal. The Cape Town School of Photography will be hosting a DSLR HD video workshop during the middle of May for those that want to make the most of the video functions available in their cameras.
What will I learn?
The beginner level course is aimed at those just starting out with DSLR video. Students will be taught the core differences between stills and moving images, how to set up their camera for optimum movie shooting along with understanding film making terminology. Different equipment such as lenses, stabilising units and audio will be discussed. Useful practical techniques will be demonstrated in the practical session followed by a post production session using Adobe Premiere Elements 10.
The details:
The 10 hour workshop consists of 3 training sessions spread out from the 15th to the 19th of May 2012. Lectures will run on Tuesday and Thursday evening from 18h00 to 20h00. The practical session is on the Saturday 09h30 to 13h30.
You’ll need to bring your video-capable DSLR along, as well as various lenses and a tripod or monopod for stabilising your shots.
