Reading Light : Joe McNally takes us through the fundamental first steps of recognising lighting opportunities and flash photography.
In this episode Nikon Ambassador, Joe McNally takes us through the fundamental first steps of recognising lighting opportunities and flash photography. Joe demonstrates a few basics of using natural light. He also demonstrates how you might add flash to achieve a different look, or add a different dynamic to your images. You might also consider a combination of the two, for instance by gently bouncing the flash off a nearby wall, you can simulate natural light. So Joe shows you how to use available light, and then using light from a flash and integrating that with the existing ambient quality of light.
