Masterpieces await when you take to the skies with the DJI Mavic 3. Every improvement seen in the Mavic 3 raises the bar for aerial image-making, from its legendary Hasselblad camera to omnidirectional obstacle sensing.
SEE MORE FROM A HIGHER PERSPECTIVE
Hasselblad has customised their 4/3 CMOS L2D-20c aerial camera for the Mavic 3. As is to be expected from the renowned Swedish brand, their rigorous standards have been applied to both the hardware performance and software algorithms, allowing the imaging quality to reach new heights.
The larger sensor gives the Mavic 3 the ability to produce 20MP stills with greater dynamic range while suppressing noise in low-light environments. The 12.8 stops of dynamic range retains more detail in the highlights and shadows, giving your images a richer and more professional look, as well as greater freedom to correct issues in post-production.
The aperture on the first of the Mavic 3’s dual cameras is adjustable from f/2.8-f/11. Open up to a wider aperture in darker environments where you need more light, or close down to something narrower when you need more of your subject matter to stay in focus. In shooting scenarios when there is plenty of available light, you can also take advantage of the f/11 aperture to let less light into the camera, allowing you to shoot at slower shutter speeds for smoother, more natural motion blur in video footage.
The L2D-20c is paired with a lightweight 24mm equivalent lens. The glass not only supports autofocus but also has an 84-degree field of view so you can capture more in every frame. On that aforementioned autofocus: the Mavic 3’s camera features Vision Detection Auto Focus (VDAF). This technology works with multiple vision sensors to utilise distance data and optimise focusing speed.
Additionally, the Mavic 3 features a second unique 162mm f/4.4 telephoto lens with 28x hybrid zoom. When subjects are far away, you can use the telephoto lens to zoom in and save time, or record from a distance without disturbing the subject.
ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE WITHOUT PRESETS
The DJI Mavic 3 features the Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS). Developed from the pixel level of sensors, HNCS is an innovation resulting from decades of photographic experience. It enables the Mavic 3 to handle a variety of scenes by easily reproducing accurate and natural colours with the simple press of the shutter.
The L2D-20c lens on the Mavic 3 adopts the same rigorous standards as all other Hasselblad cameras. Thanks to this technology, the Mavic 3 doesn’t need to rely on presets. While recording, RGB colour data from the sensor is converted through the unique Hasselblad processing algorithm and colour processing mode. Every pixel of the sensor has been calibrated with HNCS embedded, meaning the drone can capture and reproduce colours at their vividest and naturalest.
PROFESSIONAL VIDEO SPECIFICATIONS
Get results that speak for themselves with the crispy, high-resolution 5.1K video recording available on the Mavic 3. If you want to bring a dynamic, cinematic element to your video footage, the Mavic 3 also supports 4K 120 fps in the professional DCI resolution.
Additionally, you have access to a powerful 10-bit D-Log color profile that captures more than 1 billion colours. This results in a more natural and detailed graduation of sky colours, retaining more information for greater freedom in post-production. For even more freedom, the Mavic 3 Cine now supports Apple ProRes 422 HQ encoding at a maximum bitrate of 3772 Mbps. You can even record to a built-in 1TB SSD and use a 10Gbps lightspeed data cable to further facilitate a professional filmmaking workflow.
FLY MORE, FLY SAFELY
It has never been easier to have a collision-free flight thanks to the Mavic 3’s omnidirectional obstacle sensing capabilities. A collection of onboard wide-angle vision sensors work in conjunction with the high performance vision computing engine to pick up any potenial obstacles in all directions. Together they plan a safe flight route that avoids these dangers, so all you have to worry about is getting the shot itself.
The brand new Advanced Return To Home functionality ensures that you always end your aerial adventures on a high note. This system detects and avoids any obstacles on the way back to your home point, enabling the Mavic 3 to automatically figure out the optimal route to get back to you safely. This feature will also be triggered in the event of signal loss, and as long as there is adequate lighting conditions, your Mavic 3 will be back with you in no time at all.
UPGRADED PERFORMANCE
Enjoy recording that is uninterrupted by obstacles along the way. APAS 5.0 allows the DJI Mavic 3 to continually sense objects in all directions and bypass them smoothly and quickly. Now you can fly and create in highly complex flight environments, and record seamless footage even when you run into blockages.
The Mavic 3’s flight time has been extended to 46 minutes, courtesy of the higher energy efficiency usage of its motors and propellers coupled with a high-capacity battery. In a single flight, you can execute every step, from flight route planning to composition and hitting record. Its wind resistance has also improved by 33% over the previous generation Mavic, so you can fly worry-free in more adverse conditions.
Fly further and see more with the Mavic 3’s 15 km maximum transmission range. In areas of strong interference (e.g. city centers) you will have access to 1.5-3 km of transmission range, while this extends up to 9 km in locations with medium interference (e.g. suburban areas) and 15 km in open landscapes with little interference. Additionally, the signal now transmits with higher stability and less video lag, offering you greater peace of mind when you take to the skies.
The Mavic 3 makes history for DJI, being the first of their drones that is able to tranmit a 1080p 60 fps live feed. The result? A camera view that is displayed at specifications close to what the camera is actually recording. This not only gives the transmission visible smoothness, but it also makes the Mavic 3 more responsive to your control.
Attaching the DJI Cellular Transmission Dongle to your Mavic 3 adds another layer of flight security to your aerial experience. When the dongle is connected, the Mavic 3 can seamlessly switch to 4G networks when the O3+ signals are being obstructed by buildings, hills, trees or other structures, ensuring a smooth, stable shooting experience that never fails.
Finally, the Mavic 3 is more stable whenever it is hovering thanks to its extreme precision positioning. This ensures clearer long-exposure shots, and the recording of ultra-smooth time-lapse videos.
