Congratulations to Hassner Pepler for winning the August 2012 Photo of the Month!
We’d like to thank everyone that submitted photos, commented on them and voted for the finalists. Keep the photos coming! Details on how to submit your images are included at the bottom of this post, in the description of the Facebook albums and on the first image in each album from this month onwards.

August was our biggest month of submissions ever, with 268 photographs selected for the Facebook galleries – We even had to create a second album! View the submissions here and here.
We’ve selected five of our favourite photographs as finalists, now it’s up to the community to choose the Photo of the Month. Let us know which one you like the most by leaving a comment below! The winning photo will be announced on Friday 24 August and will be featured in the August newsletter (subscribe here).
Each photo is followed by the name of the photographer, in alphabetical order. Remember to click on the image to enlarge.

How to enter next month’s competition:
The Orms Connect Monthly Photo Competitions use the galleries on Orms Direct’s Facebook page as entries. You can submit your photographs via email or via the Orms group on Flickr. If you decide to mail your images through, please rename the files to “Name Surname 01.jpg”, and please use the subject line: “Facebook Photo Submissions”. Also include the camera and lens combination (make and model) in the message body. Thanks for sending in your photographs, keep them coming!

It is almost impossible to choose the standard is so high!!! But if there can be only one it is
03 – Hassner Pepler with no 1 coming a very close second. I just loved the warmth of this picture. A different way of looking at what we usually scorn. Well done to the amazing finalists.

#5 – it is the only picture that looks not to grainy or to busy

Nr 3 by Hassner Pepler gets my vote. It tells a story. The old leaking shacks, now dangerously supplied with electricity connections shows that not much else has changed for a lot of people in South Africa in the last 22 years .
